AD-FX capsules were taken twice a day on an empty stomach for 4 weeks. Patients were instructed not to change any other medications during the study. After 2 weeks of the ADHD herbal remedy treatment, the proportion of the subjects exhibiting improvement ranged from 31% for the anxious-shy attribute to 67% for …

i have a 5yr old son and i think he had some symptoms of ADHD because of his behavior at school (nursery). But he had higher grades but he never sit down from start of the class ’til the classes ended. so i want to ask if playing with video games will help him focus?? he’s good at that mostly..

Einstein like many people today suffered from Dyslexia. It was known early on that Einstein had problems with reading. Everyone learns differently, some are visual, some learn audibly, others from touching and feeling. Some have to do a little bit of both. None of this has much to do with ADHD, OCD , or ADD.

There are many conditions, some even life-threatening that are directly related to genetics. Should they be considered “adaptations” as well and go untreated?

That’s a pretty dense comment. Racial characteristics are also genetic. Shall we also “treat” those? What medication would you suggest as a likely cure for dark shin? Zyklon B perhaps? There is nothing life threatening about ADD/ADHD. Like that opposable thumb that gives you an advantage over a chimp, ADD/ADHD is an adaptation which gives us an advantage over YOU.

  7. snydfd83 Says:

I’m just saying that if someone wants treatment they should be able to receive it. Genetic variations are only advantageous in a certain context, which is why some organisms fail to thrive while others do quite well. FYI, I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and while I know it has advantages, it can interfere with a lot things.

ADHD is a milder form of autism caused by environmental factors causing immune system disorders which then affects development of children.
Biomedical intervention is the way to go. The meds are not the way.

  9. theGodSeat Says:

btw, biomedical intervention includes great nutrition.

Environmental Factors being - School bullies, dysfunctional families, etc. You ever heard of a kindergarten teacher making fun of a shy kid along with other students? Shit like that is what causes it.

yeah, i havent seen anyone(dr. wise) yet but im very sure i have it and like i would do a lot just to stay away from medication because it is really bad— it could make u into a zombie and just get addicted to drugs and has lots of side effects so yeah…. better to go the natural rout

It is my belief that, in our case, oxygen deprivation to the brain at birth is the cause. Fluid in his lungs inhibited his ability to breathe and although 2 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit cleared up the fluid, the damage was already done.

  18. DonnaMariaWHV Says:

I strongly disagree with your opinion that these disorders are caused solely by “environmental factors”. Our family is well functioning and otherwise healthy. We spent an entire year exploring dietary allergies/interventions, we have never lived in a house with lead paint and our son was not given immunizations until well after his ADHD and Autism were diagnosed.

  19. DonnaMariaWHV Says:

When diagnosed together, ADHD and Autism are in fact described as “Comorbid Diagnoses”, the presence of one or more disorders (or diseases) in addition to a primary disease or disorder.

  20. DonnaMariaWHV Says:

As you can see, neither ADHD nor Autism has anything to do with the other. The only way you would be able to connect the two is that both impairments stem from issues with the frontal lobe. The frontal lobe, the largest lobe of the brain, is also the birth place of Alzheimer’s disease. Surely you would not put Alzheimers on the Autism spectrum as well.

  21. DonnaMariaWHV Says:

On the other hand, Autism manifests itself, again in its basic form, as impaired social interaction and communication. There are 5 PDDs (Pervasive Developmental Disorders) but the two most widely known are the classic, non-verbal Autism where communication is limited and Asperger’s Syndrome in which communication is disproportionate.

  22. DonnaMariaWHV Says:

Personally I would prefer ADHD to be categorized as an LD (a Learning Disability). At its basic level ADHD presents as an inability to focus on a singular task for a significant amount of time. In the case of classic, Type 3 (Combined Type) ADHD the deficit is more pervasive and the hyperactivity extends to the physical.

  23. DonnaMariaWHV Says:

Although I know there are a few Doctors, certainly not the majority, who place ADHD on the Autism spectrum, a decision I question, it is too bold and misleading a statement to say that ADHD is a “mild form of Autism”. I also take exception to the description of any form of Autism as “mild”, but I digress…

  24. DonnaMariaWHV Says:

ADHD is not a milder form of Autism. My son has Asperger’s and ADHD, are you suggesting he has 2 types of Autism or just extra Autistic Autism?

I personally think that school recess needs to be extended. Children spend way too much time inside a climate controlled building. Please, keep in mind that I’m not placing any blame. I just believe that it would help a little. Children need to learn, but they also need to be quirky, weird kids imho. I am not bashing medicine, but if it can be avoided, it should.
